We are hiring our Student Media team for the 2025 / 2026 semester. We're looking for students who are media savvy to lead our student newspaper and podcast.
We want to cover the issues affecting students, as well as events and stories our student body are interested in and be on the beat when it comes to news, politics, entertainment and culture.

An Focal Newspaper
An Focal Newspaper Editor / Editorial Team
We are hiring an An Focal Editor who will help us breathe life into the student newspaper, with a goal of publishing a physical printed edition once a semester.
The An Focal editor will oversee the editoral team, producing and editing the website / printed edition and proofing stories submitted by contrbutors.
Commitment - 7 hours per week / 1 day per week
Salary - €13.50 per hour
Requirements: Journalism / media experience is desirable, copywriting and poofing skills is essential, and knowledge of defamation / libal laws is preferable.
Interested in overseeing one particlar area of the newspaper that you have a particular grá for? We are looking for Sports, News, Features and Arts and Culture editors too to join the team!
An Focal Contributors
While we actively encourage student journalists to get involved, you don't need to be in media studies to contribute to An Focal, we are looking for people with a creative flair who are interested in anything from news and current affairs to sports, arts and culture. There is no time commitment to this, articles can be pitched or submitted to our An Focal editor throughout the semester. If you have a story to share that the students should hear, we want to hear from you!

'Are UL?' Podcast
We're on the hunt for two new hosts of our 'Are UL?' Podcast - following the massive success of the last two years, with guests such as Lucy Fitz and Siobhán Kelly, we are hoping to make next years series even bigger and better!
We are looking for two fun, bubbly, creative podcast hosts to take the reigns from Leah and Allie and put their stamp on the Student Life podcast. We encourage you to apply as a duo; having a history of working together is a bonus, but not essential.
If you have experince with podcasting, can record, produce and edit your own shows and have a few contacts up your sleeve, then we want to hear from you!
This is a great opportunity for any media students who are keen to gain experience in the industry or for any students who podcast on the side, outside of their studies.
