Friends of MSF

Friends of MSF, a student support organisation of Médecin Sans Frontiers/Doctors Without Borders, is an official group at the University of Limerick. Here's a description of the work of MSF from their official website:

 "Médecins Sans Frontières/Doctors Without Borders is an independent medical humanitarian aid organisation working to save lives and alleviate suffering on the front-lines of wars, disasters and disease outbreaks. Our teams of expert medical and logistic volunteers provide emergency medical care when & where we're most needed, irrespective of race, religion or politics. Funded mostly through public donations, Médecins Sans Frontières acts fast to save lives." 

As supporters of the organisation at the university, our activities will span a wide variety of events to raise awareness of pressing issues around the world! Some of these include hosting talks by important speakers, screening movie nights on the state of healthcare in affected regions of the world, running MSF-related campaigns and food/fund-raising for natural disasters!
