The OPC's goals are to spark interest in our activities and to develop the skills needed to do these activities safely. We offer regular training for caving, climbing and orienteering and major training for mountaineering before international trips to Scotland, the Alps, and beyond!
Our Sunday hikes are a great opportunity to get some exercise, meet new people and see some of the most beautiful parts of Ireland. Just bring your boots, waterproofs, food and water and you will be ready to go. For our caving, orienteering and rock climbing trips we supply all the gear you might need. On these Sunday trips you will apply the skills you learn in our weekday activities.
OPC weekend trips are fairly infamous. From the old monastery of Letterfrack, Connemara to the Youth Hostel in the foothills of the Wicklow Mountains in Glendalough these weekend trips are not to be missed. They have gained legendary status due to the hikes, craic and general debauchery.
The OPC climbing wall is located next to the UL Sports Arena and is one of UL’s great sports facilities. We're so excited to get you all in to try out the new state of the art facility. If you are interested in joining, please click the join button at the top of the page. See you in the outdoors!
