Filing a Complaint

How to file a complaint

Our role in helping you file a complaint

Nicole and Shane provide a free, confidential, and impartial service. As we are independent of the university, we can support you in understanding the complaints process, putting together a complaint and when there is capacity, attending a hearing with the complaints/ disciplinary committee.

You can book an appointment with us if you would like to discuss putting a complaint forward.

Learn more on the SL Advice homepage, where you can book a 1-to-1 appointment with Shane or Nicole on the Advice & Advocacy team.

Were you notified by the disciplinary committee?

If you are called to meet an advocate by the disciplinary committee you can also seek advice
and guidance from the Advice & Advocacy team.

You can email us at advicehub@ul.ie or book an appointment with us through the SL Advice page.

Filing a complaint about your course

Complaints about your course can be discussed with your class rep who can bring them
directly to the lecturer or course director or to the Course Board. If you don’t know who your
class rep is, please email student.voice@ul.ie

If you are not happy with the outcome, the Advice & Advocacy team can talk you through the student complaints policy and procedures. Full information on the policy is available in the University of Limerick Student Complaints Policy & Procedures which can be found at the UL Policy Hub.

Have you been the victim of harassment from another student or staff?
