Exam Results Are Out This Friday 20th June!
It’s results week for all UL students! We understand you might have questions about your results, or even how to access them. UL Student Life is here to help, and we’ve put together a quick guide covering everything you need to know about results, repeats, progression, and where to go for support.
A Quick Note:
UL Student Life is independent of the University of Limerick and does not manage exam results or repeats. If you have specific questions about your registration or want to request a grade recheck, please contact the Academic Registry directly via Topdesk.
How Can I Access My Results?
You can view your results via the Student Portal throughout the academic year. You’ll need your student number and password to log in.
Forgot your password?
No worries - just follow these steps to reset it:
https://www.ul.ie/itd/password-management/reset-your-password
How Can I View My Exam Script?
If you’re unhappy with your results, your first step is to view your exam script here.
Contact the department responsible for the module you'd like to view. Script viewings will take place on the 25th and 26th of June 2025.
How Do I Apply for a Recheck of Approved Grade Applications?
If, after viewing your script, you decide to request a grade recheck, you can do so from the 20th of June to the 4th of July 2025.
A recheck costs €25 (refunded if the grade changes).
Please note: your grade can go up or down so it might be worth waiting until you have viewed your script to progress with the re-check. Rechecks are completed by the same person who originally marked your exam.
You can apply for a recheck of an approved grade up to two weeks after the date that your examination results are officially published. The process to apply and pay can be found here. It may take up to three weeks for your recheck result to be issued. If successful, the refund will be applied to the card you used.
Can I Appeal My Recheck Result?
Yes. If you're not satisfied with the outcome of a recheck, you can appeal within two weeks of receiving the result. The appeal fee is €50.

I Need Help Understanding My Progression Decision
If you didn’t meet the required QCA or failed a module in your repeat exams, you should receive an email from the Academic Registry with your progression decision.
Need help understanding what it means? Contact Nicole or Shane from our Advice Team at: advicehub@ul.ie.
More information around progression can be found through this link: Progression: Minimum Standards for Progression.

I Failed an Exam or My QCA Is Below 2.0 – What Now?
You’ll receive an email with your progression decision on results day. If you failed an exam, you’ll need to repeat it during the Annual Repeats, which take place from the 25th to the 30th of August 2025.
A repeat fee costs €171 with a max of 4 repeats when you complete 2 semesters. You have the option of sitting 2 repeats if you complete 1 semester. For full details on the fees associated with repeats you can find out more on Top Desk.
I’m in Fourth Year – Will I Still Graduate If I Have Repeats?
If you're in final year and need to repeat an exam, you’ll graduate in the January graduation ceremonies, once all assessments are passed.
We know this can be tough. If you'd like to talk it through, you can book a chat with Shane or Nicole from our Advice Team.
